For my PhD, I worked on understanding the probable molecular mechanisms for variability in survival of nigral DA neurons in different mice strains and their crossbreds, and further aim to extrapolate these findings to unravel the mechanisms for ethnicity based differences in prevalence of Parkinson’s disease and the effect of admixing on the prevalence of Parkinson’s disease.
